Choose your Christmas tree.

Pakeen gives you a choice between trees growing in its Canton fields and freshly cut trees brought in from northern New England, Canada and North Carolina. The farm grows balsam and Fraser fir, with occasional concolor; only a limited number of field trees are released each season. There is no advance tagging: a choose-and-cut tree is cut when purchased.

The separate fresh-cut lot carries balsam and Fraser fir from tabletop sizes to more than 10 feet tall. These are priced by size and variety. The lot’s longer weekday hours can be useful for shopping after work, while the fields close at dusk.

Christmas shopping at the barn

The barn has wreaths, roping and other holiday decorations, with fresh mini donuts and hot cocoa adding a warm stop to the tree visit. These are separate purchases rather than an advertised inclusion in a tree price.

Choose the right visiting time

The posted recurring season opens at 9am on the day after Thanksgiving and usually continues to mid-December while trees last. Opening day and weekends run 9am–4pm; other Fridays and Tuesday–Thursday run 11am–7pm, with no Monday opening. Check the latest stock update if you specifically want a field tree.

Arriving and other seasons at the farm

Bear left in the driveway by the stone pillars and watch for children and animals. Professional photography sessions are prohibited both during business hours and outside them. The Elm Street entrance is marked by stone pillars; approaching from Canton Center, it is on the right opposite a hay field.

In autumn the farm also sells pumpkins, apples, cider and pies, with fresh mini apple-cider donuts offered through its seasonal openings. Apples are sold at retail rather than picked by visitors. The former Farmyard, cow train and mini maze remain closed; they are not part of the Christmas visit.
