Choose your Christmas tree.
Mason Farm grows its Christmas trees in Rutland and opens the choose-and-cut season on November 27. Selling continues on Saturdays and Sundays, 8am–5pm, until the available trees sell out. Plan around that weekend pattern rather than assuming a weekday tree visit.
The current operator gives 230 Barre Paxton Road for the farm. Ask about the available species, size and price before travelling for a particular tree, and confirm the cutting tools and handling help you will need.
The farm visit.
Trees and maple syrup
The family farm also produces maple syrup. Maple boiling starts around February as weather permits, with its own visiting arrangements; it is a separate season from Christmas tree cutting.
