|---|---|
| Friday after Thanksgiving, then daily until sold out | Noon–4pm; the earlier late-season notice had closed choose-and-cut fields and offered precuts |
The indexed hours page consistently gives noon–4pm for weekdays and weekends. The earlier homepage has a conflicting midnight typo; no overnight opening is implied. Confirm the next season’s actual dates and hours.
Choose your Christmas tree.
Ellsworth’s published choices include farm-grown Fraser and balsam fir, alongside seasonal precut firs. The published field range has included trees around 7–12 feet, while a later-season notice offered precut balsam around 6–9 feet after the choose-and-cut fields had closed. Check which format is currently available before setting out; a seasonal field closure can leave a precut selection at the barn.
Saws and help with cutting and carrying are available. Keep the tree’s receipt or tag number for collection after payment. Twine is supplied, while optional shaking and baling have a small volunteer charge; those services should not be assumed free.

Greens and the Christmas shop
The earlier custom-wreath program lets you choose a wreath size, bow ribbon and other decorations at the design station in the Barn Shop. Select the decorations before going into the tree field so the team can work while you choose your tree. Staff then text when the wreath is ready and hold it for collection. This is a custom-order service rather than a taught wreath workshop.
Preorders are arranged by email with the wreath size and design, contact details and requested pickup or local-delivery date. The published program schedules pickup and delivery after Thanksgiving, with the actual date confirmed by email. Check renewed designs, stock, delivery area and any charge before ordering; older sold-out design examples do not establish current availability.
Payment, tools and pets
The previously published FAQ says cards are not accepted and an ATM is available onsite. Only hand saws are allowed; chainsaws and other motorized saws are prohibited. Leashed pets are welcome outdoors, with cleanup required, while the separate barn rules keep dogs out of the Barn Shop. The FAQ also lists a portable outdoor restroom. Confirm the current selling arrangements before travelling.
Previously published tree choices
The detailed FAQ describes field trees around 7–12 feet, each individually priced. A separate tree-care page gives an earlier fresh-cut balsam example of 6–10 feet from $60, while a later homepage notice describes 6–9-foot precuts after that season’s fields closed. Confirm the actual available height and price rather than treating those different notices as one current inventory.
| Selection or service | Published basis | Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Choose-and-cut field tree | Individually priced | FAQ describes 7–12 feet; ask for the current range and field availability. |
| Fresh-cut balsam example | From $60 | Tree-care page describes 6–10 feet; an earlier offer, with no current stock or price guarantee. |
| Shaking and netting | Optional small volunteer charge | Tell staff ahead of time if you do not want this service. Amount not stated. |
Earlier barn activities
The earlier barn program offered complimentary hot cider and cookies, family photographs in a sleigh and a separate photo stop on the field path. Children could write letters at desks beside Santa’s mailbox; that feature is not a scheduled visit with Santa. Keep children with an adult in the fields and step aside for the tree-transport tractor. Check which barn activities are returning before planning the visit around them.
Before you go.
- The earlier farm-hours notice says weekend calls may not be returned until after 5:30pm because staff are serving visitors.
