Choose your Christmas tree.
Chestnut Mountain provides a cart and saw for a choose-and-cut field visit, with help available when needed. Its current operator list includes balsam, Fraser, Canaan and concolor fir and Colorado blue spruce. Choose-and-cut and precut 6–9-foot trees are listed at $75–$105, while 3–4-foot tabletops are $55 and “Charlie Brown” trees are individually priced.
Shaking and baling are included with all tree sales. After choosing your tree, warm up with complimentary cocoa and cookies while the team bales it. The farm also sells handmade wreaths, ornaments, local crafts, maple syrup, tree stands, fudge and other seasonal treats.

Wagons and the seasonal visit
Horse-drawn wagon rides run on selected weekends, weather permitting. The previous complete program charged $2 per person, with children age 5 and under free; the current overview retains that free age band but does not renew the general fare or full ride calendar. Check the ride date and price before travelling. Food and shop purchases are separate from the complimentary cocoa and cookies.
The farm opens seasonally from late November, with exact hours and wagon dates posted in the fall. Confirm weather-related updates before travelling. Use 126 Mountain Road in Hatfield; older profile height limits describe earlier stock rather than overriding the operator’s current 6–9-foot offering.
Getting help in the fields
The previous complete visit guide explicitly offers staff cutting if you would rather choose the tree and have help with the saw. Collect the saw and cart when you arrive and ask the team about that help before heading into the rows. The farm describes its workshop as the place for cocoa, cookies, wreaths and crafts while the tree is being baled.
