Choose your Christmas tree.
Brooksby’s holiday farmstore selection includes Christmas trees, kissing balls, wreaths, pine greenery and planters in November and December. Its matched city-operated farm is at 54 Felton Street in Peabody. Check the store for available tree species and sizes before travelling for a specific tree.
The holiday range also includes pies, apple cider, cider donuts and gifts. General farmstore hours are Tuesday–Sunday 9am–5pm, with Monday closed. Pets are not allowed on the farm.
The farm visit.
Free play and November story hour
The play yard is free during business hours, and the farm has barnyard animals. Free Sunday story hour is published for November; ask the store for the actual start time before planning the day around it. The store also carries produce, jams, dairy, local gifts, cider donuts and pies.
Fruit and flower picking, fall hayrides, campfires, s’mores and the Fairytale Trail have their own seasonal availability. An older official profile also describes walking trails and a cross-country ski area with rentals; ask about current winter trail and rental conditions rather than assume that older offering is operating.
Separate autumn school field trips
The published Spookley field trip is an October programme for pre-K through grade 5, with Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday starts at 10am and afternoon starts listed as noon or 12:30pm. Confirm the group’s actual start when reserving. Allow 1–1.5 hours. It includes a private self-guided Spookley walk, one miniature pumpkin or gourd per child, animals and the play yard, plus one Spookley book for the teacher’s class. There is no formal farm talk or snack; groups may bring food for the designated picnic area.
The fee is $9 per child including siblings, with a $135 minimum for groups smaller than 15 people. Teachers, school support staff and chaperones are free, with one chaperone required per five children. Reserve using the field-trip form and confirm the count used for the minimum charge. Credit cards and school/PTO checks are preferred; cash must be in large bills.
Arrive 10–15 minutes early and count/pay at the side-yard shed; a late arrival shortens the visit. Trips run rain or shine, so wear closed shoes and weather gear. For a cancellation call the farm, extension 12, and leave a message; rescheduling depends on space. This separate school-trip fee and calendar are not Christmas-tree admission.
