Choose your Christmas tree.
Starting November 1 in the published Christmas description, Bolton Spring transforms its picnic area into a retail grove of trees in different sizes and varieties beside the country store. Confirm actual tree arrival, remaining selection and individual prices before travelling; the general seasonal description does not promise stock on every date.
The store also offers custom wreaths, ornaments and gifts. Hot cider, coffee and cider-spiced donuts are available as separate purchases while you browse the tree selection. This is a retail stop; the orchard’s autumn pick-your-own and hayride program does not establish Christmas field cutting or rides.
The farm visit.
The holiday country store
Custom wreaths, ornaments and seasonal gifts accompany tree shopping. Custom fruit baskets can combine fruit, preserves, cheese, candles and other items. The store occupies a historic barn, with farm and family antiques displayed around the shopping area. Hot cider, coffee and cider-spiced donuts are separate purchases.
The announced Holiday Artisan Fair
The Holiday Artisan Fair & Market runs November 14–15, 10:30am–3:30pm. Admission is $5, children age 12 and under are free, tickets are available at the gate and parking is free. The event runs rain or shine. These are the fair’s arrangements rather than an admission charge for ordinary tree shopping.
The outdoor orchard market advertises more than 80 makers, farmers and specialty-food vendors, plus seven food trucks including one for dogs. Expect carolers, strolling Santa and photo opportunities, a fire pit and holiday country-store shopping. Cider, cocoa, food, craft beer and wine are available to buy separately.
Well-behaved, social dogs are welcome outdoors on a leash, with owners required to clean up. Parts of the orchard have uneven ground; discuss particular access needs in advance with the event organizer at Karen@FarmFreshEvents.com or 508-614-9704. Dress for the weather and orchard walking.
December wreath workshop
The farm announces a December 3 wreath-decorating workshop and private-shopping experience, with further details to come. Check the farm’s announcement for its session time, fee and booking process before making arrangements.
An autumn orchard and bakery visit
Apple picking is a separate September–October activity in the main orchard across the street from the country store. The upper route is a hike; heading left provides a gentler, flatter orchard option. Ask the stand which varieties remain for the visit rather than relying on a full-season ripening list.
The bakery makes cider-spiced donuts, apple dumplings, pies, turnovers, cookies and breads. Hot apple crisp is described as a weekend apple-picking-season treat; check seasonal availability rather than expecting every autumn item throughout Christmas shopping. Fall orchard rides and pumpkin activities have their own seasons.
Payment, address and seasonal hours
The farm accepts cash only, with an ATM onsite; credit and debit cards are not accepted. Use 159 Main Street, Route 117, Bolton, and 978-779-2898 during business hours.
The business’s broad season is late May–December 31. Current fall hours are Monday–Friday 10am–6pm and Saturday–Sunday 9am–6pm; confirm holiday shop and tree-selling hours separately. The fair and December workshop use their own schedules.
A separate school or group orchard trip
The autumn school programme serves preschool through second grade and homeschool groups. Reserve at least two weeks ahead for 20 or more students, with a 50% deposit and the balance due five business days before the visit, using the final headcount and 20-student minimum. Add-ons apply to the whole group. One morning and one afternoon group are booked daily; visits are outdoors, rain or shine unless otherwise arranged.
Recommended supervision is one adult per 4–5 pre-K or kindergarten children, or per six students in grades 1–2. One teacher and up to three parent chaperones per class are free. Only students and designated chaperones ride; student apple bags and picking are for participants. Other adults can buy apples at the stand.
Buses use the orchard entrance across from the main stand, avoiding a student crossing of Route 117. Arrange dates with Karen@FarmFreshEvents.com; this is a separate fall visit, not a Christmas-tree group package.
| Choice | Published charge | What is included |
|---|---|---|
| Little Orchard Explorer | $15 per student; minimum 20 | 1½–2 hours; farm presentation and quarter-peck apple bag per student |
| Cider and doughnut | Additional $5 per student | Glass of cider and one plain or cinnamon-sugar doughnut |
| Hayride and pumpkin | Additional $5 per student | Tractor-pulled wagon ride and one small pumpkin per student |
| Pizza lunch | Group-size quote | Slater’s Restaurant pizza |
| Children’s orchard yoga | Flat group quote | 30–45 minutes with The Yoga Nook |
Separately arranged professional photography
Paid professional sessions require an appointment, advance payment and a current insurance certificate naming Bolton Spring Farm as an additional insured before the session. Access is nonexclusive while the farm remains open to visitors. Bad-weather sessions can be rescheduled without another fee. Personal, noncommercial photographs are welcome during ordinary farm hours.
The photography agreement limits a group to 20 people including the photographer. Stay on paths and open areas, keep out of crops and restricted spaces, and do not cut plants, climb trees or move equipment. Alcohol and glass are prohibited; carry away rubbish. Social, well-behaved pets must be leashed and cleaned up after. The agreement describes free designated parking and portable toilets for this separate programme; confirm session access rather than treating it as a Christmas-field facility guarantee. Check pass validity and actual dates before paying.
| Option | Fee | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Monday–Thursday session | $50 | Up to two hours |
| Friday–Sunday session | $75 | Up to two hours |
| Season pass | $400 | Ten sessions; confirm validity |
| Extended pass | $600 | Twenty sessions; confirm validity |
