Choose your Christmas tree.
Bay State’s holiday department starts filling in the week before Thanksgiving. Fresh-cut Fraser and balsam firs range from around 2 feet to more than 15 feet, giving a choice from small displays to very tall trees. Staff cut, wrap and load the selected tree, and home delivery is available by arrangement; ask about its fee and delivery area.
Living potted trees are a separate choice. The posted blue-spruce product is $249.99 in a #10 container; that container designation is not a ten-foot height or the price of a cut fir. Check the individual product’s size and stock before ordering.
Tree species
- Fraser fir
- Balsam fir

The farm visit.
Choose a fir and keep it watered
For a choice between the two cut firs, the store explains that Fraser generally sheds fewer needles, while balsam gives a stronger fragrance indoors. That difference in shedding does not itself mean a balsam will last for less time. Choose for the scent and cleanup you prefer, as well as the individual tree’s shape and size.
Keep the tree stand supplied with water and do not let it dry out. Bay State recommends checking the water level in the morning and evening and topping it up as the tree drinks. A Christmas-tree removal bag is separately listed at $3.49; check current stock rather than assuming it is included with the tree.
Handcrafted greenery and the holiday shop
Handmade wreaths are decorated by the store team, with hanging baskets, porch pots, garlands, roping and boughs for other spaces at home. Wreath, swag and garland shipping is offered separately; that does not establish shipping for a full Christmas tree.
Retail hours and contacts
The public retail hours are Monday–Friday 8am–7pm, Saturday 8am–6pm and Sunday 8am–5pm. Receiving hours are for deliveries to the business rather than shopping. Cards are accepted.
Use 508-821-3704 for voice enquiries. The separate 774-226-9845 number is published for text messages. Current cut-tree prices and delivery charges should be checked with the store.
Online pickup and merchandise delivery
General online purchases can use free one-hour curbside or in-store pickup. Select the pickup option when ordering, then wait for the readiness email and instructions. Pickup hours are Monday–Saturday 8am–5pm and Sunday 8am–4pm. Put your requested pickup day in the order notes when ordering ahead.
The general Monday truck route requires orders by Saturday at 6pm; later orders move to the following week. Weekly Martha’s Vineyard delivery has a $100 minimum and serves ZIP codes 02535, 02539, 02557, 02568 and 02575; ask for its delivery day. These merchandise routes do not confirm Christmas-tree delivery terms. Truck drop-offs are at the closest front-door or tailgate point accessible to the truck and driver, with no indoor placement promised. A signature may be required, and the store disclaims responsibility for damage or theft after delivery.
General merchandise returns
Request a return authorization within 30 days of the original invoice; it expires 15 days after issue and cannot be extended or reissued. Merchandise must be unused, complete and in its original packaging. Incomplete or unauthorized returns may be refused, and a departure from the process may add restocking fees. The customer pays return shipping and insurance, including for defective items; outbound shipping and handling are not refunded.
Keep damaged merchandise and its box and packing, and contact the store before returning it. Confirm any tree-specific return or care terms before buying; the general merchandise process does not establish a Christmas-tree warranty.
