Find your tree
Choose your Christmas tree.
Tagawa’s Christmas-tree selection is an indoor greenhouse forest, advertised by Thanksgiving weekend. Each cut tree receives a fresh cut and its own water stand before display, so you can compare the trees while they stay hydrated.
The two named fir choices come from family growers: fragrant Fraser fir from North Carolina’s Appalachian region, and Noble fir from Oregon’s Cascade foothills. Fraser is a fragrant choice; Noble’s substantial boughs offer room for lights and ornaments. Choose from the actual stock and ask about the height you need.

Which variety suits your decorations?
General tree guidance; the farm’s selection, sizes and services are described above.
- Fraser fir
- Upward branches and good needle retention; firmer branches can suit heavier ornaments.

From the water stand to the car
After you find the tree you want, Tagawa gives it another fresh cut and carefully secures it to your vehicle for the trip home. The indoor setting and individually watered trees are central to this visit, rather than a hike into a cutting field.
Have water ready at home. Tagawa’s care guide recommends putting the freshly cut base in water preferably within an hour or two of leaving, then checking and topping up the water each morning. The display stand keeps the tree watered while you choose; it is not a promise of a take-home stand included in the price.
| Offering | What to know |

| Named tree choices | North Carolina Fraser fir and Oregon Noble fir |

Plan a garden-center holiday stop
Fresh evergreen wreaths, mixed garland, boughs and pinecones are advertised from mid-November. The holiday plant range includes locally grown poinsettias in red, cream, pink, gold and other colours, with complimentary foil and a bow for the poinsettia, plus amaryllis, paperwhite bulbs and tabletop planters. Compare actual stock before counting on a particular colour or plant.
The operator offers holiday container planting by appointment as a separate service. That service is not a promise of cut-tree delivery or installation; use the service information if containers are part of your holiday plans.
The gift and gourmet shelves offer local honey, baking mixes, sauces, spices, jams, drink mixers and frozen pies, along with books, botanical puzzles, jewellery and greeting cards. Digital gift cards can be ordered through the linked shop; traditional cards are available at Guest Services, with phone requests also described in the FAQ.
Santa and the queue tickets
The current Santa calendar lists November 28–29 and December 4, 6, 12–13, with visits from 11am to 3pm in a Ski Cottage setting. Tickets for a place in line are put out at 10:30am. Professional photographs are available to purchase; the calendar does not give a photo-package price.
Check the date and queue arrangements before setting out: the December 6 calendar entry and the weekday in its description differ, while the general seasonal page still mentions pre-booking. Older homepage slides describe a different noon-to-3pm programme with numbers from 11:30am.
Earlier Santa programmes also included selected-date carolers, Cleo Noir Coffee and Sunny Stack Pancakes in a Gingerbread Cottage setting. Those extras belong to the earlier programme; check whether any are returning rather than assuming they accompany the current Santa dates.

Make a porch pot or a live wreath
The porch-pot workshops run November 18–21, at 11am or 2pm each day. Tagawa’s Design Team guides you through arranging fresh evergreen boughs and seasonal embellishments. Each session has a 50-person limit and a $5 reservation fee, with finished projects starting at $65. Bough choices and available places can change.
The live-wreath workshops run December 3–5, at 10am–11am or 1pm–2pm each day. Starting with a 10-inch evergreen wreath base, you choose the decorations and learn to make a bow. Each class is limited to twelve people. Reserving a place costs $5, while the finished wreath starts at $60 and varies with customisations.
The reservation fee is not the finished project’s total price. Confirm how that payment applies to the final bill and reserve the specific date and time you want. An earlier everlasting-wreath format with Pepper Rose Florals is a different published offering; check the calendar for any renewed session, fee and materials.
Cancellation at least 48 hours ahead allows a full refund or an available reschedule. Later cancellations are non-refundable, and missed sessions without prior notice cannot be cancelled or rescheduled. If you cancel after materials are prepared, collect them within seven days of the workshop. If Tagawa cancels or changes a session, it offers a refund or reschedule.
| Workshop | Sessions | Cost and capacity |
|---|---|---|
| Porch pot | November 18, 19, 20 and 21; 11am or 2pm each day | $5 reservation; finished project $65 and up; 50 participants per session; bough availability varies |
| Live wreath | December 3, 4 and 5; 10–11am or 1–2pm each day | $5 reservation; finished wreath from $60; 12 participants per session |
| Cancellation | At least 48 hours before the session | Full refund or available reschedule; later cancellations non-refundable |
| Prepared materials | After a cancellation | Collection within 7 days; missed sessions without notice cannot be rescheduled |
An early holiday arts outing
Applewood Arts Festival is a separate indoor shopping outing before the advertised Thanksgiving tree arrival. Its posted boutique runs November 6–7, 9:30am–4pm, and November 8, 9:30am–3pm. More than 80 booths offer artisan food and gifts, with lunch available while you browse. Admission is $6, with children aged twelve and under admitted free. Check the event page for any updates before visiting.
The festival operator also lists free admission for veterans and active military, free parking and free re-entry over the weekend with a handstamp. Lunch and snacks are available to purchase. Each artisan handles their own payments: many accept cards, while others use cash or cheques, so plan for the individual stalls rather than assuming one payment method covers every purchase. The festival is described as accessible by its organiser.
| Visit | Hours and admission |
|---|---|
| November 6–7 | 9:30am–4pm; $6 admission; ages 12 and under free; veterans and active military free |
| November 8 | 9:30am–3pm; $6 admission; ages 12 and under free; veterans and active military free |
Getting there and feeling comfortable
Southbound on Parker Road, use the access road just beyond Broncos Parkway. From the northbound side, turn west on Broncos Parkway, pass the garden center and turn around beyond Cherry Creek bridge to enter from Tagawa Lane. Use the operator’s map for the approach.
Vaccinated dogs and cats are welcome if restrained on a leash or in a carrier. Come prepared to clean up after them; exotic pets need advance permission, and the full policy assigns the owner responsibility for the pet’s visit. Service animals are welcome. Guest Services has two wheelchairs and one electronic scooter available first come. Snacks and bottled drinks are sold, with food trucks only on selected weekends.
Seniors and military visitors can show ID for a 10% discount; the two discounts cannot be combined. Independent groups are limited to fifteen and guided tours are unavailable. Casual personal photographs are welcome, but anyone arranging a photoshoot using the garden centre as a backdrop must make advance arrangements through extension 121, subject to seasonal operations.
Ask Guest Services about delivery availability and charges for your chosen purchase; these vary with season, postcode, item size and quantity. General delivery information does not promise Christmas-tree installation.
Check the loyalty saving and its exclusions
The Grey Kitty programme offers 20% off one regularly priced, in-stock item once per day, with one account per family. Give the cashier your account phone number at the beginning of checkout. Ask how it applies to the item you have chosen before budgeting a saving.
It cannot be used online or combined with another percentage-off discount. Food, gift cards, fundraiser items, custom or special orders, custom containers, class fees, delivery and labour, planting and garden-coaching fees are excluded.
