Oaklands Ranch sells fresh-cut Douglas fir trees with varied shapes and sizes from its ranch yard. This is a place to compare naturally shaped trees and choose an already harvested one, rather than a public choose-and-cut field outing.
The ranch’s tree-selling tradition grew from the Curtis family’s mountain harvesting work. The operator describes taking trees to Denver before later moving the sales to the yard. That history provides the setting for the current retail offering, without implying that visitors join the mountain harvest.
